Graduates earn 3,884 degrees, certificates from Eastern Kentucky University


About 22.7 percent of the 3,884 degrees and certificates handed out by Eastern Kentucky University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Richmond conferred 535 bachelor's degrees and 204 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 277 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 213 bachelor's degrees in general studies and 178 bachelor's degrees in criminal justice/law enforcement administration.

The university enrolled 16,612 students for 2017-18, including 14,143 in undergraduate programs and 2,469 in graduate programs.
