
About 52.5 percent of the 2,476 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of the Cumberlands in 2017-18 were to students in education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Williamsburg conferred 1207 master's degrees and 49 doctor's degrees in education programs.
But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in computer and information systems security/information assurance. Data shows the school gave out 511 master's degrees in computer and information systems security/information assurance, followed by 292 master's degrees in curriculum and instruction and 249 master's degrees in reading teacher education.
The university enrolled 10,097 students for 2017-18, including 3,315 in undergraduate programs and 6,782 in graduate programs.
