Trigg County ranked 30th in state for resident earnings in 2017


Trigg County ranked 30th among counties in Kentucky by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Trigg County residents was an inflation-adjusted $24,422 per year. Trigg County had 5,982 households in 2017, with a population of 14,286.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Oldham County. Oldham County's median income was $36,618 per year after adjusting for inflation – $12,196 more than Trigg County. It had 20,465 households in 2017 and a population of 64,633.

McCreary County had the lowest annual resident income among counties in Kentucky, with a median income of only $12,116 per year. That was $12,306 less than the median income in Trigg County at the time. McCreary County had 6,332 households in 2017 and a population of 17,748.
